Welcome to From Hearth to Stove
I’m Maggie — a mom of three in rural Ohio, cooking out of a 1970s farmhouse kitchen with a drafty window and a dog who thinks he’s a sous chef. My grandmother, Nana Ruth, taught me that the best recipes aren’t the fanciest ones — they’re the ones that bring people back to the table. So that’s what I do here: I take the recipes everyone’s excited about and make them the way they’d make sense in a real family kitchen. Warmer. Simpler. Built to feed people you love.
Not sure where to start? Head to all our recipes, browse our comfort food and weeknight dinners, or pull up a chair with the Whitaker Family Prayer Book. If you’re shopping for your kitchen, I keep an honest list of the tools I actually use. And if you’d like to know the woman behind the apron, that’s over here.
